The Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation, and National Meteorology, in collaboration with port industry stakeholders, is hosting the 5th edition of the tripartite forum involving the Central African Republic (RCA), Chad, and Cameroon. This summit focuses on facilitating the movement of goods through Cameroonian maritime gateways. The inaugural ceremony, held on Monday, May 11, 2026, in N’Djamena, was chaired by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Fatima Goukouni Weddeye.
Running from May 11 to 13, 2026, this assembly serves as a vital strategic platform for dialogue, designed to deepen economic ties between Chad, the Central African Republic, and Cameroon.
In his opening remarks, the Cameroonian Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallé Bibéhè, commended the dedication shown by the leadership of the three nations. He pointed out that Cameroon’s port facilities are indispensable tools for the RCA and Chad, underscoring the geographical and historical solidarity shared by these neighbors.
“The momentum established by our three states is promising and will only grow stronger,” he stated. He also mentioned the case of a Cameroonian driver currently detained in Chad, advocating for a resolution rooted in the spirit of regional brotherhood.
While officially opening the sessions, Minister Fatima Goukouni Weddeye highlighted the critical importance of this forum for landlocked countries in the region.
“For landlocked nations like Chad and the RCA that rely on Cameroonian ports, the operational efficiency of the Douala and Kribi corridors directly impacts market supplies, the management of logistics expenses, and the global competitiveness of our economies,” she emphasized.
Throughout the three-day event, delegates from both the public and private sectors will exchange experiences and draft actionable solutions to streamline transit operations, minimize logistics costs, and advance regional economic integration.
