Amara Diouf back in training, Fenerbahçe move imminent

Senegalese football welcomes back one of its brightest prospects. After a lengthy recovery period, Amara Diouf has resumed training with Génération Foot and appears close to finalising a transfer to Fenerbahçe.

The young forward made a lasting impression during the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria, which Senegal won. Named the tournament’s best player, he was immediately hailed as a future star of African football.

Badara Sarr believes the injury has not diminished the player’s ability.

“He is a boy with enormous qualities. He can make a difference on the flanks, create danger and score. His profile is very rare,” Sarr said.

The former Casa Sports coach is also optimistic about the likely move to Turkey.

“Fenerbahçe represents a great challenge. It’s a demanding environment, but Amara has the mental strength to succeed. He just needs time to get back to his best level.”

When asked whether the young striker could follow in the footsteps of Sadio Mané, Badara Sarr did not hide his confidence:

“He has the potential to build an exceptional career. Now, it will largely depend on his ability to stay fit without physical setbacks.”
