During a high-level meeting in Rabat on Thursday, Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kacou Adom, reaffirmed his country’s unwavering commitment to Morocco’s royal-led initiatives aimed at fostering Africa’s growth and development.
The Ivorian diplomat emphasized the depth of bilateral ties, stating, «Côte d’Ivoire fully supports these initiatives and will work closely with Morocco to ensure their successful implementation in line with His Majesty’s vision.» The discussions took place alongside Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the collaborative spirit guiding their engagement.
Kacou Adom also underscored the dynamic role of the Moroccan private sector in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He noted, «Moroccan businesses are actively contributing to Ivory Coast’s nation-building efforts, driving progress across key sectors.»
The two ministers agreed to reconvene soon to assess the progress of the Economic Impulse Group, a partnership mechanism designed to unlock further economic potential. Nasser Bourita reciprocated with gratitude, acknowledging Côte d’Ivoire’s steadfast backing of Morocco’s position on the Sahara issue.
«Ivory Coast has consistently stood by Morocco as a trusted ally in this pivotal matter,» he remarked, adding that the country’s stance has been warmly received by His Majesty the King, the Moroccan people, and national stakeholders.
Morocco’s top diplomat further praised Côte d’Ivoire as «a benchmark bilateral partner in Africa and a regional leader in supporting royal initiatives, including the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project.» This landmark infrastructure venture, he noted, is advancing toward realization after receiving validation from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) through an intergovernmental agreement.
The Rabat meeting served as another milestone in strengthening the political, economic, and regional collaboration between the two nations. From consistent diplomatic support for Morocco’s Sahara sovereignty to robust bilateral cooperation and alignment with royal African projects, Côte d’Ivoire remains a cornerstone of Morocco’s partnerships on the continent.
