Faure gnassingbé assesses security operations in northern Togo

On 7 May 2026, President and Commander-in-Chief Faure Gnassingbé conducted an unannounced visit to the Koundjoaré Operation zone in northern Togo to assess security conditions and bolster efforts against escalating terrorist threats.

The head of state began his inspection with a comprehensive operational briefing at the Command Post, followed by a visit to the Tchamonga forward operating base, a key position in the country’s security architecture.
