Uniting Africa’s digital pioneers
The ID4Africa conference serves as a premier panafrican platform where government leaders, technical specialists, private sector innovators, and international institution representatives converge. This year’s gathering marks a critical milestone in the continent’s digital evolution, with discussions spanning secure population identification, digital public service access, data protection, and the creation of inclusive digital ecosystems.
A high-level inauguration
The official opening ceremony on 12 May 2026 set the stage for four days of intensive deliberation. The event was inaugurated under the distinguished patronage of Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, Vice-President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, underscoring the government’s commitment to advancing digital identity solutions.
Beyond technical infrastructure: building holistic digital systems
The conference challenges the conventional focus on mere technical infrastructures, advocating instead for comprehensive systems that integrate human, legal, institutional, and sectoral dimensions. Since its inception in 2014, ID4Africa has been instrumental in assisting African nations in developing robust, responsible digital identity ecosystems that drive development, digital transformation, and humanitarian action.
Côte d’Ivoire’s strategic digital vision
