The Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Ms. Messouda Bahama Mohamed Laghdaf, arrived in Libreville on Monday, June 22, bearing an official message from His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of Mauritania. Her mission? To formally present Mauritania’s candidacy for the post of Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) to President Oligui Nguema.
Accompanied by Dr. Koumba Ba, the Mauritanian delegation outlined a strategic vision centered on three pillars: coherence, balance, and tangible utility for member states. The high-level discussions underscored the depth of diplomatic ties between Nouakchott and Libreville, built on solidarity, mutual respect, and ongoing collaboration on shared continental priorities.
