Sénégal: Ousmane Sonko takes a firm stand on unnatural acts
During a parliamentary session focused on current affairs this Friday, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko articulated a rigid defense of the national legislation aimed at strengthening penalties for unnatural acts. He made it clear that the law will be applied rigorously, without any room for leniency or selective enforcement.
The Prime Minister issued a stern warning, indicating that legal proceedings would not be limited to minor offenders. He explicitly stated that “big fish” would also be targeted and brought before the courts. This comprehensive approach is part of a broader strategy to totally eradicate such behaviors within the country.
Furthermore, Ousmane Sonko addressed Western nations that have expressed disapproval of these legal measures. He firmly declared that Sénégal accepts no lectures from foreign powers regarding its domestic policies. This declaration reinforces the sovereignist path he has consistently pursued since assuming his leadership role.
