After much anticipation, Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced their first big move of the summer transfer window. Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos is leaving the capital club after three seasons, signing with AC Milan until 2031.
This summer, PSG is set for several squad changes. Manager Luis Enrique wants to rejuvenate a group that has won the Champions League two seasons in a row. Behind the scenes, talks have been intensifying, and the first major transfer has now been confirmed: Gonçalo Ramos joins AC Milan.
Official: Gonçalo Ramos signs for AC Milan
In a statement, PSG announced: “After three seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, with no fewer than 12 trophies including two consecutive Champions League titles, Gonçalo Ramos has signed for AC Milan on a permanent transfer.” The Italian club then confirmed the agreement, revealing the contract length: “AC Milan announces today the signing of Gonçalo Matias Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain FC. The Portuguese forward has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2031.”
One of PSG’s biggest sales ever
The exact fee was not disclosed, but the transfer is understood to be worth €74M, with bonuses that could push the total to €80M. This is the most expensive signing in AC Milan’s history, and the second largest sale for PSG. The record remains the €90M paid by Al-Hilal for Neymar in 2023. Gonçalo Ramos now sits just behind that, ahead of Manuel Ugarte and Xavi Simons, both transferred for €50M to Manchester United and Tottenham respectively. PSG’s summer business has well and truly begun!
