The Senegalese government continues its restructuring campaign, with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye initiating a second wave of dismissals of top officials linked to opposition figure Ousmane Sonko.
Among the most notable removals is that of Waly Diouf Bodiang, who served as director general of the Dakar Port Authority. His dismissal marks a shift in leadership at one of the country’s key economic hubs. Bodiang, a prominent member of the Pastef party, has been succeeded by Doune Pathé Mbengue, a former activist with the Apr party.
The shake-up also extends to critical sectors such as vocational training. Babo Amadou Ba, national coordinator of Pastef cadres and director general of the Vocational and Technical Training Fund (3FPT), has been relieved of his duties. Soulèye Kane takes over his position, bringing fresh leadership to the institution responsible for funding professional education.
In the religious and educational domain, Lamine Barra Lô, a Pastef representative in Touba and director general of the National Office for Vocational Training (ONFP), has been replaced by Mame Awa Ndoye. This move signals a broader realignment within institutions tied to workforce development.
Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical sector sees a leadership change as well. Karamba Diallo has been appointed director general of SEN-Pharmacie, the national supply agency, taking over from Seydou Diallo, a Sonko ally and Pastef member based in Keur Massar.
