Sonko mourns death of serigne abdou bakhi mbacké

The President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, conveyed profound sorrow upon learning of the passing of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, the spiritual leader of the Khassim Mbacké family in Guinguinéo, on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Sonko paid tribute to the revered religious figure and extended his deepest condolences to the late leader’s family, the General Khalife of the Mouride Brotherhood, and the entire Senegalese nation. « With immense grief and deep sorrow, I received the news of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké’s departure from this world,» he wrote.
