Ousmane Sonko, President of the National Assembly, conveyed his heartfelt condolences following the passing of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, the spiritual leader of the Khassim Mbacké family in Guinguinéo, which occurred on July 9, 2026.
The announcement was made through a Facebook post, where Sonko honored the late religious figure and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family, the General Khalife of the Mouride Brotherhood, and the people of Sénégal.
In his message, Sonko expressed deep sorrow, stating, “The loss of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké has left us in profound grief and sadness.” He reflected on the warm interactions he shared with the revered guide during visits to Guinguinéo, recalling “the affection, hospitality, and kindness he consistently displayed towards us.”
