Côte d’Ivoire focuses on investor engagement for 2026-2030 development plan

Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister rallies investors to drive 2026-2030 economic growth

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group kicked off in Abidjan with a high-powered gathering of over 700 investors at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, chaired by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

Speaking to the assembled business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, the Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private investment in translating Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions into reality. « This session marks a pivotal step in our collective drive to attract private capital, foster enterprise, and generate sustainable value,” he stated. « We are encouraged by the strong turnout—more than 700 investors from friendly nations have joined us to explore opportunities in this thriving market. »

The Prime Minister highlighted the event as a unique platform for fostering dialogue between government and private sector stakeholders, aligning visions for economic transformation. « Your participation is a vote of confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth trajectory,” he asserted. « As key partners, you will play a decisive role in building a more competitive, job-creating economy. Success depends on your commitment to investing in our shared future. »

Under Mambé’s leadership, the government has positioned the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He underscored the nation’s proven resilience, citing an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a performance that solidifies its status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

« This is a market brimming with opportunity,” he declared. « Today’s discussions will fast-track investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, and the expansion of critical infrastructure—transport, digital connectivity, logistics—to enhance competitiveness and appeal. »

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of investing in human capital, innovation, and essential services to cultivate a more productive and inclusive economy.

Earlier sessions, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including local stakeholders.

In a unified show of support, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international business organizations—including Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC)—reaffirmed their confidence in the government’s vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to accelerate the implementation of the PND 2026-2030.
