Mali offers rewards for key Sahel terrorist leaders

Government unveils financial incentives to dismantle terror networks in Mali

In a bold move to strengthen national security and combat rising extremism, the Government of Mali has announced cash rewards for the capture or elimination of seven high-profile terrorist leaders operating across the Sahel region. The initiative targets individuals accused of orchestrating attacks that have destabilized communities and threatened regional stability.

The announcement, issued by the Ministry of Security, details financial incentives ranging from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs, depending on the individual’s role in terror activities. Authorities emphasize that these figures are actively sought for their alleged involvement in planning, financing, and executing violent operations across Mali.

The list of wanted individuals includes:

  • Iyad Ag Ghali – 2 billion FCFA
  • Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré (Amadou Kouffa) – 1.5 billion FCFA
  • Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo (Doulé Bib de Nampala) – 1.5 billion FCFA
  • Alghabass Ag Intallah – 1 billion FCFA

Mali’s security forces have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any credible information about the whereabouts of these suspects. The government stresses that public cooperation is critical in dismantling terror networks and restoring peace in affected areas.

This unprecedented measure reflects Mali’s intensified efforts to curb extremism through both military and community-based strategies.
