Ousmane sonko urges pastef leaders in mbacké to safeguard internal unity

During the inauguration of Pastef’s new headquarters in Mbacké, party president Ousmane Sonko issued a forceful plea for solidarity among his political cadres. He cautioned them against internal rivalries, emphasizing that such divisions could undermine the party’s momentum.

Addressing the party’s leadership directly, the prominent Pastef figure stressed the critical importance of maintaining cohesion, which he identified as the sole assurance of success in their upcoming struggles.

Sonko acknowledged that personal ambition was not inherently detrimental. However, he cautioned that it becomes a significant issue when it jeopardizes collective unity and hinders the effectiveness of the party’s operations. Confident in Pastef’s widespread popular base, Ousmane Sonko asserted that the party remains robust, bolstered by the support of at least 70% of the populace. Consequently, he believed Pastef had no real external adversaries to fear. For Sonko, the paramount danger originated from within the party itself, prompting his strong emphasis on the individual and collective responsibility of its executives.

The President of the National Assembly then called upon the officials to join forces, confronting future challenges as a united front. He warned that should this unity falter, he would not hesitate to assume his responsibilities and enact the necessary decisions, a statement that hinted at potential sanctions or internal restructuring.
