Aldiouma Sow, Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic, has strongly refuted allegations of a secret agreement involving President Bassirou Diomaye Faye during his detention at Cap Manuel. Speaking ahead of the PASTEF party congress, Sow dismissed claims of an alleged “secret pact” as baseless and unfounded.
In a firm statement, the presidential advisor emphasized that President Faye has consistently upheld his political values and commitments throughout the 2024 political transition. “President Faye never engaged in any clandestine agreement,” Sow declared. “His actions have always reflected his unwavering dedication to democratic principles and the sovereign will of the Senegalese people.”
Sow also rejected accusations that the president sought to manipulate electoral outcomes. “There is no truth to the claim that he participated in any attempt to undermine the right of the Senegalese people to freely choose their leaders,” he added.
The advisor further elaborated on President Faye’s approach to political dialogue. According to Sow, for the Head of State, dialogue is not a tactical maneuver or a short-term strategy to manage power dynamics. Instead, it is a core principle that shapes his governance and institutional decisions.
With the PASTEF national congress approaching, Sow’s remarks have intensified discussions within the party and among its supporters about the future direction of the administration and the relationship between key political figures in Senegal.
