President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has taken a decisive step by establishing a new political movement in Senegal, marking the end of his association with the Pastef – Les Patriotes party. The newly formed party, named Kiiraay – Les Patriotes républicains, draws its name from the Wolof term ‘kiiraay,’ meaning ‘protection,’ a principle President Faye intends to uphold rigorously in all his future endeavors.
