The French Embassy in Morocco hosted a grand reception at the French Residence in Rabat on July 14, 2026, to commemorate Bastille Day, bringing together more than 1,500 influential figures.

The event was led by France’s Ambassador to Morocco, Philippe Lalliot, and his wife, Laurence Folliot Lalliot, who warmly welcomed dignitaries and guests.

In his address, Ambassador Lalliot emphasized the depth of the renewed Franco-Moroccan partnership, describing it as “a balanced alliance focused on mutual interests, modernized for today’s challenges, and built for the future.” He added, “This friendship is our shared legacy—it is our responsibility to nurture, strengthen, and expand it.”

Reflecting on Morocco’s dynamic vision for progress, Lalliot noted, “From Rabat to Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, and Laâyoune—where I recently inaugurated the city’s first Alliance Française—Morocco doesn’t just envision the future; it actively constructs it, one day at a time.”

The gathering was attended by Mohamed Saad Berrada, Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, who represented the government, alongside other high-ranking officials and foreign diplomats accredited in the Kingdom.

The evening featured performances by the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra and a special set by DJ Retro Cassetta, adding a cultural touch to the diplomatic celebration.
