In the heart of the Kozah region, diplomatic efforts to restore stability in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) took center stage during a meeting between Togo’s President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé and DRC’s Minister of Regional Integration, Floribert Anzuluni.
The high-level discussion, held in Pya on July 14, underscored the urgency of addressing the escalating security challenges plaguing eastern DRC. Beyond bilateral cooperation, the leaders focused on mediation strategies aimed at fostering lasting peace in the Great Lakes region.

Following the talks, Minister Anzuluni extended his appreciation to President Gnassingbé for his unwavering commitment to resolving the DRC’s crisis. As the African Union’s designated mediator for the eastern Congo and Great Lakes peace process, the Togolese leader has been actively engaging with regional stakeholders to broker a sustainable solution.
